To earn this distinguished designation, a candidate must pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Examination. The examination includes case studies and client scenarios designed to test one’s ability to correctly diagnose financial planning issues and apply one’s knowledge of financial planning to real world circumstances. Candidates also complete a minimum of three years of full-time financial planning-related experience and adhere to the CFP® Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct ethical and practice standards.

Having joined the Firm in 2015 as a Portfolio Management Associate, Mark is responsible for preparing and analyzing data for both clients and many of the Firm’s committees including the Investment, Client Service, Growth Initiatives, and Marketing Committees. Prior to joining the Firm, Mark served nearly eleven years in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, deploying six times and traveling extensively through the Middle East and Asia. Mark joins fifteen other members of the Dowling & Yahnke team who have achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.
