Why did you become a financial advisor?
Over the span of my 20 years of professional financial life I’ve developed an ability for building and retaining relationships in the financial arena. My love for understanding complex technical financial concepts and the ability to effectively apply them for the benefit of my clients is why I fell in love with wealth management. By understanding an individual’s needs, their financial risk tolerance and their objectives (charitable, family & legacy, financial independence etc..), I can apply the knowledge and financial wealth building tools to recommend a comprehensive “plan” that will achieve those goals. Through my experience, I’ve recognized that real life happens around “planning” and it’s both an art and science to effectively guide families towards their objectives. That’s what drives me and gives me the most personal satisfaction.
What is your favorite family tradition?
We call it “daily share”. At the dinner table we all take turns to identify 1) something beautiful 2) something we did well and 3) something that was challenging. The conversations are funny, at times quite serious and complex. We recognize wins and discuss the challenges. Keep in mind our children are 3 and 5 years old. It’s a great way to keep communication honest and open.
What book are you currently reading?
I am a voracious reader and almost exclusively read non-fiction. I am currently reading “The Big Leap” by Gay Hendricks.
Do you have a secret hidden talent?
I was a competitive Salsa dancer. Being around live salsa music and perfecting the dance feeds my soul in ways only a few things do. And it’s great cardio!
I love helping clients with…
Preparing for important transitions. These can range from retirement, planning for the next chapter in their business, or designing a thoughtful transition of wealth (and values!) to the next generation. It is in these important moments where I enjoy helping clients articulate and realize their vision.
I also love helping clients identify and execute on their philanthropic intentions. The stories which foster their giving combined with the ways in which we thoughtfully help them design their charitable strategy make this work extremely rewarding.
