What quality of yours makes you best suited for what you do?

An analytical and logical mind that can visualize complex problems. I enjoy the satisfaction of the “aha” moment when things work just as designed after hours or even days of work.

What is the most challenging part of your role?

Knowing the breadth and depth of our systems. This requires understanding the “fabric” of interconnectedness between systems as well as the capabilities of each system on its own.

What sport(s) do you enjoy watching most?

An evening spent at the ballpark watching my team win is probably second place behind my answer to the “what makes you happiest” question below. I also enjoy football, though like many San Diegans, I am a “free agent” fan with our hometown team gone.

I am happiest when:

Sitting and sipping morning coffee in my backyard with my wife while our baby girls play. Family time means more to me than anything else.

What brought you to San Diego?

I came for college at UCSD. Like many who find themselves here, I found it too hard to leave and was fortunate to forge a path to a comfortable life here.
