Finishing the Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP) bicycling event in 2011 is a great source of pride and personal accomplishment. PBP is a self-sufficient 750-mile bicycle ride from Paris to Brest and back, to be completed in less than 90 hours.
What was your first job?
When I was ten years old, I was hired as a newspaper delivery boy. It was a great introduction to personal finance and instilled the importance of savings and budgeting.

At the time, my soon-to-be wife moved to San Diego to start her postdoctoral studies at UC San Diego, and I followed her to this wonderful city.
