What do you find most rewarding about working at Dowling & Yahnke?

I really enjoy the balance that working in our Firm offers. We get to work on lots of technical investment and financial planning issues while building meaningful relationships with clients and teammates. On the technical side, I enjoy digging into complex issues to develop strategies that will add value to our clients. It is a great feeling when a client thanks you for helping them resolve an important issue in their life. I also enjoy investing in the next generation of leaders in our Firm. Our goal is to build the best team in our industry, so it takes a big investment of time. It is great to see others succeed as our team grows.

Why did you join Dowling & Yahnke?

I joined Dowling & Yahnke because of the team. We have an outstanding group of people that want to continue to get better at serving our clients. Our Firm is in a leadership position in our industry, but we strive to keep improving. Our Firm’s values, focus on integrity, and consistent high-quality service to clients make me proud to be a part of the team!

Which hobby are you most passionate about?

I love to play golf. I was fortunate to play a lot as a young person and continue to have a passion for the game. Golf provides a great platform for building both relationships and patience. I don’t play as much as I’d like but am still working to get better!

What is the best gift you have ever received?

The best gift I’ve ever received has been marriage to my wife Jennifer. She has been my true partner and best friend for the last 20-plus years. We enjoy traveling, walking on the beach, and dreaming of new real estate projects. We have two wonderful daughters, Morgan and Ellie.

What was your first job?

My first job was as a caddie at a golf club in the Detroit area, which I began when I was 13 years old. It was a great job that helped me develop important interpersonal skills, provided opportunities to meet people from all walks of life, and introduced me to the game of golf.
